Chan Tran, founder of The Charming Sake, has always felt a deep connection to Japanese culture. In 2020, his passion for sake blossomed, leading to certifications as a Certified Sake Sommelier and Certified Sake Educator by 2022.

In the Fall of 2022, Chan held the Inaugural Introduction to Sake course in Manila, the first of its kind. Since then, he has continued hosting private tastings, curated food events, and educational courses designed to introduce more people to the beauty and versatility of sake.

As part of his continued journey in the sake world, Chan was honored to be invited as a judge for the 2026 Tokyo Sake Challenge, an international celebration of excellence in sake.

Through The Charming Sake, Chan creates a warm, inclusive space to explore sake’s artistry and rich traditions. He especially loves showcasing how sake pairs beautifully with cuisines from around the world, finding joy in the smiles sparked by discovering the perfect pairing.
